ASKUL Information Security Policy and Privacy Policy

Declaration

In accordance with ASKUL's corporate philosophy titled "ASKUL: evolving for our customers", ASKUL aims to create a distribution platform that gives peace of mind to its customers by making extensive use of information and IT, being the most efficient way to meet the demands of the 21st century, and paying maximum attention to information security and personal information.

Basic Policy

Throughout its business activities, ASKUL endeavors to ensure information security, the protection of personal information, and continuous enhancement of such security and protection.

ASKUL has appointed a Chief Security Officer (CSO) to take overall responsibility for this policy. Specifically, the duties to be carried out by the CSO are as follows:

To build information security management systems and management systems for the protection of personal information and to make continuous enhancements to these systems.
(2)
To assess risks to which information assets are exposed and to implement appropriate security measures, and when necessary, to devise measures for information security and prevention or remedial measures for leaks or other incidents relating to personal information.
(3)
To gather, use, and provide personal information appropriate to the nature and scale of the business conducted.
(4)
To formulate measures to ensure that acquired personal information is used only within the scope of the purposes of its use, and is not used outside that scope.
(5)
To deal promptly with requests, inquiries, and complaints with regard to the notification, disclosure, modification, supplementation, or deletion of the purposes for use of personal information, the suspension of its use, its deletion, or the suspension of its provision to third parties.
(6)
To observe faithfully all laws and regulations prescribed by national or local government and similar bodies in relation to information security and personal information, as well as guidelines and other norms laid down by the national government, and other requirements that ASKUL has accepted.

Notice regarding the gathering, use, and provision of personal information

Use of information collected from customers will be limited to the necessary scope, such as for sending E-mails and responding to inquiries. However, this shall not apply when disclosure is requested by the Police, Fire Department, or other government agencies, pursuant to the provisions of laws and regulations.

Provision of personal information

ASKUL does not intend to provide any third party with personal information collected from customers.

(5)

Subcontracting of services

Some services that require the use of customer information, such as IR mail delivery service, may be contracted to member companies of "Large ASKUL ."

Consequences of non-provision of personal information

If you refuse to provide your E-mail address, ASKUL will not be able to send IR mails and reply to your inquiries.

(7)

Right to request disclosure of your personal information

You are entitled to request disclosure of your personal information held by ASKUL. If you find any mistakes in the disclosed personal information, you can request ASKUL to revise or delete such information. With regard to the information used for IR mail delivery service, you can revise or delete the information by yourself through the IR mail delivery registration page.

Please note that processing fees may be incurred for requests to disclose, revise, or delete personal information. (With regard to the information used for IR mail delivery service, you can display, revise, or delete the information by yourself through the IR mail delivery registration page.)

Methods of collection of personal information

ASKUL does not collect personal information using cookie data or other methods that can not be easily recognized by website users.

ASKUL is a business operator granted with the right to use the "PrivacyMark" by JIPDEC.

JIPDEC accepts complaints and questions regarding the handling of personal information by its affiliated business operators.
